Many undergraduate students are not aware of soil science coursework or how it relates to majors like chemistry, engineering, or biology. Dr. Joshua Heitman and Dr. Owen Duckworth decided to change this by providing these students an opportunity to do research in soil science.
International Agricultural Cropping Systems presents “Training the Next Generation of Coffee Producers & Consumers via Innovation & Entrepreneurship”
Visiting students and instructors from SENA in Colombia will explore our local culture and have classroom exchanges with Crop and Soil Sciences Department students; and at the Global Training Institute on Centennial Campus, they will present the first symposium on coffee and cocoa research with other students, faculty, and businesses current topics related to coffee research and coffee culture.

Architecture Students Design, Build
The project is a boost to offering more campus-grown food in campus dining halls. NC State’s Agroecology Education Farm off Lake Wheeler Road has grown produce for NC State Dining for several years, but in order to maximize harvests, the farm needed a facility where produce could be washed and refrigerated until transport to dining halls.
