The Integrative Science Initiative and the N.C. Plant Sciences Initiative are excited to announce that medical ethnobotanist Cassandra Quave will presenting a seminar at NC State. As a medical ethnobotanist, Dr. Quave’s work focuses on the documentation and pharmacological evaluation of plants used in traditional medicine. Her science memoir, The Plant Hunter: A Scientist’s Quest for Nature’s Next Medicines, was published in 2021.

Phil Taylor, Director of Open Innovation and Outreach at Bayer, will give an open seminar on May 11 at 10:30am in Seminar Room 1322 B&C at the Plant Sciences Building. He will be speaking about Bayer, the needs and opportunities for innovation in agriculture, Bayer’s approach to R&D and partnering, working in industry and more specifically, working at Bayer.
