Wayne is the statewide coordinator of the Pesticide Safety Education Program and Director of the Southern Region Pesticide Safety Education Center. His main responsibility is to develop and distribute educational materials for the certification and recertification of North Carolina's Private and Commercial Pesticide Applicators and Dealers of restricted use pesticides. The program is developed in cooperation with faculty members working in other NC State University pesticide programs, the federal partners, and the N.C. Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services. A network of 98 Cooperative Extension Agents delivers the program at the county level.
