Hops and Hemp Research Twilight Tour

Join us for this late afternoon to early evening tour of the research we are doing on hops and industrial hemp (for cannabinoids). We will visit the hop variety trial which is seven years old now. This has been a challenging year with strange spring temperatures and that 20+ inches of rain in May, so you will see diseases, insects, and production issues that you might not have seen before. We will show you the hops harvester and if any bines are ready for harvest, we will run them through it. We will have posters showing some of the breeding research we have going on in other locations. After visiting the hops we will walk down to our industrial hemp studies where we are looking at growing "CBD" hemp with different mulches and in a no-till system. We also have a variety trial. We will have posters to show some of the grain and fiber research and a "CBD" topping study we have in other locations.
