May 12, 2018 | 8:30 am - 11:30 am

Bryce Lane, Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor Emeritus and Lecturer Emeritus, Department of Horticultural Science, NC State University

Gardening in containers is one of the most popular gardening activities among gardeners, yet many are hesitant about the horticultural practices involved with growing plants in containers and/or we feel insecure about plant selection and design. This workshop is designed to teach principles and build confidence. We will discuss all that is container gardening … topics include: choosing the right containers, media, and plants; basic container design principles; and proper container gardening culture (planting, watering, fertility, etc.). Each participant will have the opportunity to create their own container garden to bring home.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own container (12″ to 24″ wide) to the workshop. Simple nursery containers will be provided. These can be placed inside decorate containers later.

Cost: $80.00 for members, $100.00 for nonmembers.
