José Cisneros promotes interinstitutional collaboration and the integration of research, education and extension to support sustainable economic growth in rural areas. He works to bring together public institutions, academic and research organizations, private-sector stakeholders, producer organizations and rural communities involved in different aspects of agricultural production and rural development.
A key component of his work is identifying and mapping the resources, expertise, programs, infrastructure and ongoing activities of participating institutions. Based on this assessment, he and his collaborators jointly design integrated systems that align priorities, strategies and actions around a shared vision for rural development. This collaborative framework seeks to maximize the use of resources, reduce duplication of efforts, strengthen institutional capacities and promote the effective transfer of knowledge and technologies to farmers.
