The Makerspace gives students, faculty, and staff hands-on access to emerging digital fabrication technologies, including 3D printers, 3D scanners, desktop CNC mill, circuit board printer, a laser cutter, and many other Maker tools.

State of Change: Natural Solutions - Screening and Panel Discussion
Please join us in person (or virtually) on Thursday, April 20, at 7 PM, for a special screening of State of Change: Natural Solutions, followed by a panel discussion with scientists and journalists from around the state who will provide an up-close look at climate change issues and answer your questions in-person and via the virtual chat. Two NC State faculty members from CALS are featured in the segment: Matt Ricker and Alex Woodley. 

Medical Ethnobotanist Seminar: Cassandra Quave

The Integrative Science Initiative and the N.C. Plant Sciences Initiative are excited to announce that medical ethnobotanist Cassandra Quave will presenting a seminar at NC State. As a medical ethnobotanist, Dr. Quave’s work focuses on the documentation and pharmacological evaluation of plants used in traditional medicine. Her science memoir, The Plant Hunter: A Scientist’s Quest for Nature’s Next Medicines, was published in 2021.
