N.C. PSI Opening Reception with Leah Sobsey
Join us at the N.C. Plant Sciences Building for an opening reception to celebrate Leah Sobsey’s work and hear from graduate students about their research and involvement during Sobsey’s residency.
This fall 2025 semester, the N.C. Plant Sciences Initiative and the Gregg Museum collaborated on an artist residency and creative exchange with artist Leah Sobsey. Sobsey worked closely with graduate researchers from N.C. PSI to create new artworks that are on display in the Plant Sciences Building’s lobby. Her cyanotypes are on display in In Search of Thoreau’s Flowers at the Gregg Museum (September 10, 2025 – January 31, 2026).
Leah Sobsey is an artist and University of North Carolina Greensboro associate professor whose multidisciplinary photographic practice reaches into the fields of science, design, and installation.
Special thanks to our campus partners N.C. Plant Sciences Initiative and the Office of University Interdisciplinary Programs for their support. In addition, this event is sponsored by the Burroughs Wellcome Fund.
