CALS and PSI graduate students and postdocs are invited to apply for an attendee and presentation slot at the BASF Two Minute Pitch Research Competition and Innovation Day. The invitation only event will be held from 11 am – 2 pm on September 27, 2023 at BASF’s RTP location at 26 Davis Drive. This is a rare opportunity to present your current research to one of our strongest industry partners. The competition will be followed by lunch with BASF employees and a professional development activity. BASF will sponsor cash awards for the winners of the competition: $500 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third place. (Any taxes, including a 30% tax for foreign nationals, are the winner’s responsibility.)

You must apply for one of the ten attendee slots. To apply: submit your abstract, no more than 500 words, through InfoReady. In order to be considered, abstracts must be received by 11:59 pm on July 26, 2023. Applications will be reviewed by BASF and NC Agricultural Research Service staff. A maximum of 10 presenters will be selected, based on innovative science, fit with BASF’s research and hiring goals, and with preference to projects with potential for commercial/start up development or other non-academic application. Selected applicants will be informed by email on or before August 23.

All selected presenters must attend a drop-in prep session scheduled for September 15 in 206 Patterson Hall. You can attend any time between 8 am and 12 pm. Attendance is mandatory.
