CALS profs named NC State Innovators of the Year
Two College of Agriculture and Life Sciences professors have won NC State University's 2015 Innovator of the Year Award. Drs. Sylvia Blankenship and Todd Klaenhammer were recognized by university Chancellor Randy Woodson during the Office of Technology Transfer's 26th Celebration of Innovation and Entrepreneurship earlier this month.
Swartzel receives highest IFT honor
Dr. Kenneth Swartzel, William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor of food, bioprocessing and nutrition sciences, has received the highest award given by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), a professional society for food scientists.
New leader for leadership institute
Dr. Marshall Stewart, special assistant to the dean and associate director of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, has been named director of the Food Systems Leadership Institute, succeeding Dr. Ken Swartzel, who has directed the institute since it was founded and is retiring.
Allen honored by Food Technologists
Dr. Jonathan C. Allen, professor of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences, has received the 2012 Gilbert A. Leveille Award given by the Institute of Food Technologists.
