Alumni and Giving

In North Carolina and beyond, a thriving community of friends and alumni supports our college.

Seeding the Future

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) does extraordinary things for North Carolina with the support of our alumni and friends.

Gifts big and small not only strengthen our college, but they also help to secure the future of agriculture in our state. When the Golden LEAF Foundation invested $45 million in the Plant Sciences Initiative, it was building on the $9 million contributed by 42 agricultural groups across the state — and the $85 million approved by voters through the Connect NC Bond. People look to our college to lead the way to a more prosperous North Carolina.

NC State’s agricultural research and extension produce more than $1 billion in economic impact for rural North Carolina each year. Our deep roots in the state date back to the university’s founding as a land-grant institution, and they’re sustained by a network of CALS graduates and invested agricultural groups who understand the importance of supporting our college’s teaching, research and extension mission.

Growing the Wolfpack

Alumni from our college are part of a wider community of agriculture and life sciences professionals at work throughout North Carolina and the nation. As lifelong members of the Wolfpack, they carry the bonds they formed at NC State out into the world, bolstering the connections between their alma mater and the agriculture, agribusiness and biotech industries in our state and beyond.

We invite all of our graduates to maintain close ties with NC State — to get involved, attend alumni events such as the annual Tailgate on Ag Day, keep up with the latest CALS news and give back to the college that launched them.

Each year, the CALS Alumni and Friends Society, in association with the college, recognizes our distinguished and outstanding alumni for their achievements and ongoing support.
