Research bio:

Dr. Zhang’s research focuses on advancing the application of remote sensing, robotics, and data science in breeding, managing/producing horticultural crops. Her research leverages different sensors (visual, multispectral, thermal, and hyperspectral) in different platforms (ground, aerial, and satellite) to help plant breeders in their phenotyping effort and producers in their precision management of water, nutrients, and pests, etc.

Teaching bio:

Dr. Zhang is developing courses that are for both undergraduate and graduate students in the applications of high-throughput phenotyping in both horticultural plant breeding and production, and an introductory course of artificial intelligence applications that are relevant to both agriculture and horticulture.
