Dr. Hsuan Chen is interested in ornamental plant breeding by versatile technologies, including conventional plant breeding, cytogenetics, ploidy manipulation, molecular marker-assisted selection, and interspecific hybridization. He is passionate about using his expertise to breed ornamental plants with novel traits, environmental friendliness, and productional efficiency.

All are welcome to contact Hsuan for cytogenetics, ploidy manipulation, ploidy confirming,  and chromosome squashes needs.

Hsuan’s lab is accepting interns, part-time student research assistants, and undergraduate student research project applications in ornamental plant breeding.
