Webinar: Improving Mosquito Communication and Collaboration in the South
March 9, 2022 | 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST
The mosquito BEACONS (Biodiversity Enhancement And Control of Non-Native Species) Working Group brings together mosquito control, public health, private pest control, and academics to raise awareness of invasive mosquito species issues in the southern region. They are working to improve communication and collaboration opportunities, describe the surveillance capacity for invasive and non-native taxa, and train a cadre of IPM professionals across the southern region. They will also describe an IPM success story from a stakeholder-driven perspective (private pest control). Using a coastal residential community as an example, we outline the holistic approach Environmental Security Pest and Lawn used to improve quality of life for residents of the Heron’s Forest community.
The Southern IPM Hour presents research, issues, and programs in Integrated Pest Management from the Southern Region of the United States. The IPM Hour typically takes place on the first Wednesday of the month at 1pm Eastern.
