Land-Grab Universities
November 10, 2022 | 10:00 am - 11:00 am EST
In 1862, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Morrill Act, which turned nearly 11 million acres of land expropriated from tribal nations into seed money for land-grant universities. Join NC State for two days of events exploring “Land-grab universities,” an award-winning investigative story written by our keynote speakers, Tristan Ahtone and Robert Lee. You’ll learn about the history of land-grant universities and the data journalism tools that made Ahtone and Lee’s groundbreaking project possible.
