Blueberry Field Day

Join us at Ideal Tract Blueberry Farm near the Horticultural Crops Research Station in Castle Hayne, NC for our 2024 Blueberry Field Day. Learn about the blueberry breeding program and taste the next great North Carolina blueberry variety.
Location: Ideal Tract Blueberry Farm, 6208 Holly Shelter Road
Time: 3 – 6 p.m., followed by an ice cream social
Registration begins at 3:00, program begins at 3:30 pm
Early southern highbush blueberry cultivars and selections will be ripening for this beautiful display of one of North Carolina’s most important crops. Researchers will share updates on the 2024 crop, “hands-on” identification of diseases, insects, and weeds, and most importantly, give attendees an opportunity to view and evaluate advanced selections from the NC State blueberry breeding program.
Faculty, staff, students, and the public are welcome to attend. Prior registration not required.
