In a sea of deep-fried marvels and meats-on-a-stick, Howling Cow ice cream reigns supreme at the North Carolina State Fair, attracting long lines of fans clamoring for scoops of their favorite flavors.

Always popular are signature offerings like Wolf Tracks (vanilla ice cream, chocolate fudge and peanut butter cups) and Campfire Delight (graham cracker ice cream, chocolate chunks and marshmallow swirl), as well as the ubiquitous chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.

Add to your must-eat list a brand new flavor created exclusively for this year’s State Fair: Caramel Apple Crunch.

Watch the video to get a sneak peek and find out what’s inside this custom creation.

And don’t be discouraged to see that the beloved red building that houses Howling Cow Ice Cream (and other exhibits) is gone. We’ll be in the same spot as always – under a tent this year – scooping up your favorite flavors.

The wait, as always, will be worth it.
