Career Opportunities
We Train Scientific Leaders
Faculty and advisors in our department actively prepare students for the next level of their careers, promote on-campus and national engagement within scientific communities, and support an active internship program with the regional agribusiness industry. We work closely with our partners and stakeholders to prepare the next generation of scientists.
Our graduates are CEOs, distinguished professors, and directors of research, among other rewarding positions.
Where will you land? Let us help you get there.

Research, Teaching, and Internship Experiences for Credit
Both courses allow up to 6 credits, require sophomore standing or higher, and can be taken during any term. Students must complete the Course Contract with their faculty mentor or off-campus supervisor and submit it to the Director of Undergraduate Programs, Dr. Terri Billeisen.
Where can you work? Academia. Industry. Government.
1/3 of our graduates stay in academia, 1/3 join companies, 1/3 work for public agencies.
