The dedicated faculty, students, and staff of the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology deliver personalized, hands-on educational experiences and offer professional engagement through internships, seminars and scientific meetings. Through research and Extension, we give life to our philosophy: to solve real-world problems through translational research, and provide those solutions to our community.

Our Mission

To use innovative research, teaching and outreach in Entomology and Plant Pathology to enrich the natural, agricultural and urban environments, protect public health, and meet the global need for safe and sustainable food production now and in the future.

 

Two Departments Become One

The entomology and plant pathology disciplines at NC State have a history spanning over 100 years. On July 1, 2016, the two departments in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences merged to become the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology.
