Animal and Poultry Waste Management Center

The Animal and Poultry Waste Management Center (APWMC) provides infrastructure and programs to support inventive basic and applied approaches to animal waste management.

We develop knowledge and waste management options to enhance the animal production industries in North Carolina and the nation, and improve the environment and quality of life for all citizens.

Animal and Poultry Waste Management Center Processing Facility

The long-term sustainability of animal production agriculture in North Carolina may depend on new uses of animal by-products.

NC State’s APWMC Waste Processing Facility (Waste Management Facility) – located at the Lake Wheeler Road Field Laboratory – provides the infrastructure and equipment for faculty and APWMC members to explore and meet objectives for converting animal by-products into value-added products.
