Ralph J. Glasnapp Horticultural Science Scholarship Endowment

In an effort to show his love and affection for his grandfather, Mr. Steve Gaito of Raleigh, NC has established the Ralph J. Glasnapp Horticultural Science Scholarship Endowment. Mr. Glasnapp was a farmer all of his life and traveled the state selling fruits and vegetables. He did not graduate from NC State but took great pride in his workers that went on to school at State. Mr. Glasnapp’s daughter and Steve Gaito’s mother, Lynn Glasnapp Gaito, followed in her father’s footsteps as a perennial grower for many years. Ms. Gaito graduated from the Agricultural Institute in the College in the early 1980’s and recently sold her own nursery and is currently managing a nursery in Durham.

This endowment will provide scholarships for undergraduate students enrolled in the Agricultural Institute in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, majoring in Horticultural Science. Priority will be given to students in the floriculture or ornamentals and landscape technology areas.
