Public Health Food Inspections Seminar

The Public Health Food Inspections course in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will host a seminar series featuring experts from the Food and Drug Administration’s Human Foods Program and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services. This series aims to provide insights into careers in public health food inspection and emphasize the importance of safeguarding public health. Students will have the opportunity to engage with professionals and learn about opportunities in regulatory science.
The session on Nov. 14 will feature Robert Califf, commissioner of the FDA, and Michael Rogers, FDA associate commissioner for inspections and investigations. As the top official of the FDA, Califf is committed to strengthening programs and policies that enable the agency to carry out its mission to protect and promote public health. Rogers oversees FDA inspections, import operations, the Office of Criminal Investigations and the FDA Office of Emergency Response.
