Global Pest Invasion Patterns Discussion Forum
April 7 | 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT
Join a discussion forum on Global Pest Invasion Patterns, hosted by NCSU’s Center for Integrated Pest Management as part of the CIPM Cultivating Connections for Success discussion series.
Invasive pests pose a major threat to agriculture, ecosystems, and economies worldwide, and understanding their movement is key to managing their impact. This discussion forum will bring together students and early-career professionals working in pest management to explore the latest research on global pest invasion patterns. Speakers will share insights from research on geospatial models, web-based data sources, and invasion origins to improve pest surveillance and forecasting. Join us for a conversation about the science behind invasive species spread, the challenges of tracking global invasions, and career opportunities in this critical field.
This discussion between students and early-career scientists will take place on April 7, 2025, in Talley Student Union Room 4101. Light refreshments will be provided.
