Entomology Graduate Program Timelines

Below are the timelines for paperwork for the M.S. and Ph.D. programs in entomology.

M.S. Timeline for Student Paperwork

Complete residency requirements (but do not fill out residency requirement form until end of second semester; see “submit NC residency application” below). IMPORTANT!

Students who are U.S. Citizens or have permanent resident status with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services After completing these requirements, contact the Residency Officer (or
513-1287) within the first 10 days of classes to ensure your application will be accepted.
Students whose previous degree programs were not complete at the time of application are required to submit official transcripts showing degree(s) awarded and date(s). Before the end of the first semester of registration. Student Graduate Student Services Coordinator
Select members of your graduate advisory committee. Must be done before submitting your Plan of Work (see below). Student and Advisor Graduate School

Submit North Carolina residency application. IMPORTANT!
Between 14 and 75 days prior to the beginning of the student’s third semester of classes.
Students who are U.S. Citizens or have permanent resident status with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Graduate School
Submit “Request to Graduate” (MyPack Portal) Deadlines by semester Student Graduate Student Services Coordinator
Schedule final oral exam with committee members and the Graduate Student Services Coordinator Semester of expected graduation, at least 10 working days prior to proposed exam date. Student Graduate Student Services Coordinator
Electronically submit draft of thesis/dissertation for review Within 24 hours of passing the final oral exam and getting the title page signed by Committee. Student Thesis Editor
