Kalindu Ramyasoma Hewawasam is working as a postdoc with Prof. Max Scott. His doctoral study at the University of Colombo, in Sri Lanka, was focused on developing dengue virus resistance in the Aedes aegypti vector mosquito. His current research interest is developing and evaluating Y-linked genetic systems for genetic control of spotted wing Drosophila and New World screwworm using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. He has expertise in molecular entomology, molecular biology and biochemistry.
