My area of expertise is pesticide usage mitigation in agricultural fields. I am especially
interested in using natural enemies, mostly parasitoids and predators, to control arthropod
pests. For my master’s thesis, I tested plant essentials as a management strategy for an
invasive pest (Delottococcus aberiae) in the Spanish citrus grove. The residual impact of the
essential oils was also evaluated on the known natural enemies of the pest (Cryptolaemus
montrouzieri and Anagyrus vladimir). For my PhD, I will be studying a novel plant cover
which has the capacity to increase plant growth. The exclusion of insect pests and plant
diseases in vineyards will be the central focus of the study as a means to reducing, to the
barest minimum, the use of pesticides in vineyards.
