Jing Jin with Dr. Dave Shew
Congratulations to Jing Jin on receiving a 2019 Storkan-Hanes-McCaslin Research Foundation Award.  This award recognizes graduate students for outstanding research in the area of soilborne plant pathogens and is presented at the annual meeting of the American Phytopathological Society.  The award is highly competitive and is the most prestigious award given to students in the area of soilborne pathogens.  Jing continues the tradition of excellence in research on soilborne pathogens at NC State with her work on the phenotypic and molecular characterization of adaptation by Phytophthora nicotianae to partial resistance genes in tobacco and the fitness costs of this adaptation to the pathogen.
