Sara Lane
Bio
Sara manages the CALS Career Services team, which trains students in career and professional skills, prepares them to apply for jobs and internships, and connects employers with student candidates. Sara grew up on a dairy farm in Caswell County, North Carolina, and majored in agricultural business management and agricultural extension at NC State. She earned a master’s in journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in higher education leadership at NC State.
Sara worked as a journalist for nine years, primarily at CNN, and then served in the Peace Corps in Malawi (southern Africa) before becoming a career counselor at the Wake Forest University School of Business. She has been in her current CALS role since 2015. Sara is a single mom by choice to her young son, Jack, and enjoys spending time with the friends and family that make up her “village.”
