Hi, I’m Ly Le! I’m originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Greenville, NC. I graduated from NC State University with my B.S. in Animal Science in 2022.
I’m pursuing Laboratory Animal Medicine because it would allow me to practice medicine while still being involved in both research and teaching. My summer internship at the National Institutes of Environmental Health Science really solidified this choice for me because I was able to meet so many veterinarians with different paths into research. I also really enjoyed working as an Animal Care Tech at the NCSU CVM’s Laboratory Animal Resources because I learned more about how Lab Animal vets are involved in research and how research animals are treated. Outside of pre-veterinary experiences, I loved being a teaching assistant for various classes; it was really rewarding to help others learn material I also struggled with at one point!
