APVMA Symposia

The American PreVeterinary Medical Association (APVMA) is a national organization dedicated to promoting interest and education in the field of veterinary medicine and establishing communication and community among pre-veterinary clubs and organizations. The APVMA has several member clubs located in colleges and universities across the United States, including the NC State Pre-Veterinary Club. Each year, VetPAC supports the attendance of ~20 students to the APVMA annual symposium, which allows pre-veterinary students the chance to participate in a variety of workshops, lectures, labs, and hands-on modules as well as network with other pre-veterinary students and mentors.

The APVMA 2026 Symposium will be hosted by Lousiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisana. More information can be found HERE.

NC State Pre-Vet Students Receive Recognition at National Symposium

NC State pre-veterinary students traveled to Kansas State University on March 11-13 to attend the 2022 American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association (APVMA) Symposium, where they had their most successful year yet with awards and scholarships.

Animal Science Partnership Nabs National Symposium

600 pre-veterinary students and 30 advisors from 77 colleges and universities across the United States attended the American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association 2017 Symposium at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. Attendees traveled from as far away as Oregon and Puerto Rico, and even more livestreamed the lectures from locations as far as Fairbanks, Alaska and Guelph, Canada.

CALS Pre-Vet students shine at 2015 APVMA conference

Pre-veterinary students from NC State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences once again excelled at the American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association’s (APVMA) annual conference. Dr. Shweta Trivedi, director of the college’s VetPAC (Veterinary Professions Advising Center), announced that CALS students had scored a top award and an APVMA executive position at the 2015 conference.
