The 2019 Ag Tech Professional Forum event series has focused on climate change and its effects on agriculture. Our most recent keynote. At our most recent event, the Summer Social, keynote speaker Mike Tanner, director, Center for Weather and Climate, NOAA, touched on the increasing frequency and severity of storms affecting our state’s agriculture industry. One way that we can make a small difference for them, and also for ourselves, is through awareness. Farmers and producers have become very in tune with the weather, but we can help by getting alerts to them sooner.

NCBiotech’s Agriculture Sector Development team has invited the National Weather Service (NWS) to present a SKYWARN Severe Weather Spotter training program to help participants of all ages understand severe weather in the Triangle area. This will further educate our community, creating awareness and hopefully giving assistance to our farmers and producers. This program will get you started on your way to becoming an official SKYWARN Spotter for the NWS or just indulge your curiosity and expand your knowledge of our area’s weather patterns.  Learn more about this event.
