Event Navigation
NC State will mark the 15th year of its Master of Microbial Biotechnology program with a Nov. 8 symposium focusing on the intersection of science, business and education. Keynote speakers will be life science industry leaders Eric Ward of AgBiome and Paul Garofolo of Locus Biosciences.
The free event also includes a networking reception and poster session, as well as an industry panel. It takes place at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center in the Research Triangle Park, from 4:30 to 8 p.m.
The event is designed to acknowledge the MMB program’s success not only in training students to be industry leaders, but also in collaborating with area biotechnology firms through student-led projects addressing companies’ real-world challenges and opportunities.
The Master of Microbial Biotechnology degree program is one of the country’s first and most successful Professional Science Master’s programs. Coupling innovative graduate science training with MBA-level business coursework, the MMB program promotes strong transitions into bioscience careers. More than 150 students have graduated from the program.
