Pruning and Pest Management
September 30 | 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm EDT
Any gardener can keep their plants healthy and beautiful all year round with a good understanding of pruning and pest management. Join the JC Raulston Arboretum for a six-week class that will explore the ins and outs of these critical garden maintenance tasks to give you the confidence to prune correctly and the knowledge you need to manage your garden ecosystem responsibly.
First, we will discuss all things pruning: reasons to prune, pruning theory, tools, techniques and timing. Next, we will focus on pest management and explore the cultural, physical and chemical controls available to home gardeners that keep pest populations in check so our gardens can thrive. These topics leave home gardeners with more questions than any other, so don’t miss this opportunity to grow your knowledge and develop your gardening prowess.
This class is available in person and online, and recordings of the lectures will be available each week. If you can’t attend an in-person session, you can join that session live via Zoom or watch the recording. Supplemental class materials will be available weekly to all participants, and you can email the class instructor if you have questions.
