Mason Pharr Symposium
February 21 | 8:30 am - 12:30 pm EST
The Mason Pharr symposium will focus on this transformative era in horticulture and agriculture production, shaped by regulatory shifts, legal challenges and changing consumer priorities. Even before the 2024 election, big changes in store for the agencies that govern horticultural production in the United States. Continuous reauthorization of the 2018 Farm Bill, court challenges to the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Environmental Protection Agency, and high inflation were already poised to impact producers, consumers and researchers. Adding the unpredictability of the incoming administration, production systems are entering a new era of regulatory and economic uncertainty.
The symposium will be held at Kilgore Hall. Presentations will be in Room 159, and a catered breakfast will be in Room 121. Nearby hourly parking is available at the Dan Allen Parking Deck at 110 Dan Allen Drive.
