The second workshop will be March 27 and is best suited for students ready to apply AI to communication practice, industry contexts and engineering domains. Participants will work with advanced tools, analyze case studies and develop communication products that demonstrate clarity, accuracy and ethical decision‑making. Both sessions emphasize hands‑on learning, guided practice and real-world relevance.
Workshop participants will:
- Build practical AI and communication skills
- Participate in the AI Creator Challenge and poster presentations
- Compete for prizes and valuable packages of online training boot camp courses
- Earn recognition as an ethical AI communicator
- Receive a certificate of completion upon completing the AI challenge, poster presentation and surveys
- Create portfolio-ready projects
- Network with peers, faculty and industry-connected mentors
The project is designed to equip students in biological and agricultural engineering technology, biological and agricultural engineering and other STEM disciplines with essential AI literacy, ethical communication competencies and hands-on experience using emerging AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Midjourney and domain-specific AI applications in agriculture and engineering. However, this workshop is open to undergraduate and graduate students in STEM, communication, design and related fields. Students interested in AI literacy, ethical technology use, science communication or interdisciplinary collaboration will benefit from the program. Prior technical experience with AI tools is not required.
Registration is required. Early-bird registrants will receive a free AI learning kit, including a custom notebook, a USB drive with AI resources, a portfolio folder, worksheets, and collaboration tools, as well as an AI training textbook that offers a hands-on guide to AI literacy, ethical awareness, and real-world application skills.
