Food Animal Initiative: HPAI Industry Forum
April 22 | 8:30 am - 6:30 pm EDT
The rise in cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) is a major concern for North Carolina’s livestock and poultry sectors. The discovery of an HPAI strain in dairy herds across the U.S. elevated the need for better biosecurity and greater understanding of how this virus moves and mutates. Join the Department of Animal Science at the HPAI Industry Forum to hear updates on the status of HPAI in North Carolina and across the nation, participate in discussions about biosecurity and the response to the outbreak and help inform NC State’s Food Animal Initiative’s response to needed education and potential policy implementation.
