The VetPAC Internship is a unique and competitive leadership program in which Pre-Veterinary students are provided the opportunity and challenge of developing and coordinating events, activities, and initiatives under the mentorship of VetPAC Program Director, Dr. Shweta Trivedi. Interns will network with professionals in the field, attend special conferences, and will earn up to two credit hours of On-Campus Learning Experience (OCLE) elective hours. Selected interns will also be provided a VetPAC Intern Name Badge and a VetPAC Intern Polo to wear during events and their weekly office shifts. Internship participants also have the option to combine the internship with school credit via ANS 492 or BSC 492. This is to be determined by the NCSU course coordinator (more information below).
Intern Tasks and Responsibilities
VetPAC interns are responsible for a variety of duties in the role, including:
Coordinating VetPAC events, activities, and initiatives
Facilitating at least two Spend a Day at State visits per semester
Attending at least two High School Outreach Events
Maintain the VetPAC library
Maintain brochures and other VetPAC materials and resources
Managing the VetPAC Office for two hours a week
Answering VetPAC emails and phone calls
Answering pre-veterinary questions in person, by phone, and through email
Program Outcomes
VetPAC interns gain a wealth of knowledge and experience through a diverse range of opportunities, including:
Meeting with CVM faculty and current DVM students
Attending the North Carolina Veterinary Conference and the American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association Annual Symposium
One-on-one mentoring with VetPAC Program Director, Dr. Shweta Trivedi
Letter of reference from Dr. Trivedi
Receive a VetPAC Leadership Internship Certificate of Completion
ANS 492 and BSC 492 provides VetPAC Interns a way to gain course credit for the VetPAC Leadership Internship.

Application Timeline:
Applications for the 25-26 intern group are scheduled to open February 17, 2025 and close March 3, 2025.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants are expected to have a current GPA of 3.3 at the time of application submission.
