North Carolina Residency/In-State Tuition Information

Undergraduate Classification

The UNC General Administration manages and processes all residency determinations, reclassification requests, and appeals for new and continuing undergraduate and non-degree seeking students. New or readmitting undergraduate or non-degree students must apply for reclassification through the North Carolina Residency Determination Service. Graduate Classification

Once admitted and enrolled into a graduate program, graduate students currently classified as non-residents can apply for in-state residency through the “Online Tuition Reclassification Application.” Application deadlines, along with the residency application (when available) can be found here.
