My name is Dustin Orr. I grew up in Concord, North Carolina and attended Mount Pleasant High School in Cabarrus County from 2003-2007. After graduating in May 2007, I will have attended NCSU from August 2007 until this upcoming May 2011. I will be earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science with minors in Genetics and Agricultural Business Management. I have always had an interest in veterinary medicine as my father is a small animal veterinarian and hospital owner. During my high school and college years, I have acquired numerous experiences that have exposed me to the many fields that encompass veterinary medicine. I have gained experience in small animal medicine, large/mixed animal medicine, equine medicine, exotic/avian/wildlife medicine, and food safety research. I have also been involved in various clubs, intramural soccer teams, and have served several teaching assistant positions. My current ambitions are to receive a D.V.M. degree from an accredited College of Veterinary Medicine and become a small animal veterinarian with aspirations to become the owner of a veterinary practice.
