Bio

Mike received his PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with an emphasis in reproductive physiology of poultry.  He later was an assistant professor and extension specialist at West Virginia University before going to the Poultry Department at North Carolina State University where he was a professor and Extension specialist for 31 years.  He also served as Extension Leader for 5 years before retiring. While at NC State University Mike served the broiler breeder and hatchery industry in North Carolina, helping them to problem solve and provide educational opportunities.  He has studied and published scientific papers extensively on embryonic development and how the incubational processes influence the development of the embryo and subsequent performance of the hatchling during grow out.
