The Crop & Soil Science Department at NC State University is seeking a qualified and highly motivated individual interested in obtaining a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Turfgrass Science, with a preference for a M.S. student. The student will have the opportunity to conduct applied field and laboratory research in turf science with a project focused on general turf management based on the interest of the student and funding. Students will interact with a team of NC Turf Scientists and collaborate with other faculty in the department.

The Ph.D. assistantship provides a salary of $23,000/year plus tuition and health insurance but not student fees. The M.Sc. assistantship provides a salary of $21,000/year plus tuition and health insurance.

A B.S. degree with a major emphasis in Weed Science, Turfgrass Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Sciences or closely related field is required. Experience and/or knowledge of field plot techniques, experimental design a plus. Familiarity with turfgrass management is required. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
