Transfer Students

We understand the unique journey of transfer students. Please review University resources here and available prospective CALS transfer student visit options here through our Spend a Day at State program or virtual opportunities. You may also choose to join a Transfer session offered by Admissions here. Reach out to [email protected] with specific questions and we’ll do our best to share the right resource.

High School Freshmen and Sophomores

We find that students get the most out of a CALS-specific visit once they have this general background. To begin your college search, we encourage all prospective students to first attend a general campus admissions information session and tour. Think of it as an essential “University 101” to learn about campus life and applications. Register here.

New Admitted Students

We look forward to celebrating your achievement at our Howling with CALS or at the Experience NC State events designed for admitted students. Check your WolfPAW for opportunities and to register.

If you are still finalizing your application or haven’t received a decision just yet, we are here for you too. Please reach out to our team so we can discuss ways for you to engage with the CALS community and explore the options available to you this spring.

Interested in applying to a CALS major?

Tell us about yourself. Complete the NC State University interest form, and we’ll share current information about NC State and CALS, including the application and admissions process, and events and programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We strongly encourage parents/guardians to attend all in-person or virtual sessions with their students.

Contact us at [email protected] with your request, and we will be happy to provide a note.

You can attend an available on-campus tour led by an NC State student ambassador. Guided campus tours will be offered Monday through Friday, starting at Talley Student Union. You can expect to travel around the main campus for approximately one hour. Learn more at visit.ncsu.edu. If these tours are full when you visit through one of our CALS programs, we will offer a guided campus tour led by our CALS ambassadors as part of your CALS experience.

This depends on the type of visit and we will send you the start and end times. If participating in one of our Spend a Day at State programs, you can plan to spend at least a few hours on campus.

Yes! Our program is specific to those interested in CALS. We’d love to have you – you can skip the guided campus tour part if you’ve already accomplished that.

We do offer our Spend a Day at State program to sophomores in the spring (January – April), but not during our Fall semesters. We reserve Fall semester visits for those closer to the application process (high school juniors, seniors and transfer students).
