Information for Your Visit

We want to make your visit to NC State memorable and fun. See some of the most frequently asked questions about the Spend-A-Day-At-State experience.

NC State University is in downtown Raleigh, NC. See driving directions to campus.

Like most large universities, parking is limited, and visitors must park in designated areas. Visit the NC State University Transportation website for information about visitor parking and obtaining a permit.

The length of your visit will vary based on your interests. You should plan to be on campus the majority of the day. The Spend-A-Day-At-State visit includes lunch with a current student in one of our university dining halls (lunch is complimentary for the visiting student; guests must pay the current dining hall fee).

Your visit includes attending a general overview session, sitting in on a college class (parents also may attend the class if space is available), a one-on-one meeting with a faculty member in your area of interest, and lunch with a current student!

We will provide summary sheets, sample semester course lists, and a contact sheet for the major of interest you chose when registering. We will also schedule a meeting with a faculty member for you to learn more information.

After lunch with a current AGI student, he or she will give you a brief tour of the main campus. If you want a more extensive tour, the Joyner Visitor Center offers hour-long walking tours. You can schedule a tour using your wolfPAW account: log in and click “Visit Campus.”

Note: Please schedule a tour after you’ve registered for your AGI Spend-A-Day-At-State visit. That way, you know which tour time will fit with your visitation schedule.
