Bio

Rasha Qudsieh, MSc, PhD, received a bachelor’s degree in animal production, and a Masters degree in Meat Science from Jordan University of Science and Technology (2001; 2006), followed by a PhD in Animal Science and Poultry Science with a minor in Food Safety from North Carolina State University (2014). For her PhD, she received a grant from the US Poultry and Egg Association to investigate poultry meat quality as influenced by nutrition. Dr. Qudsieh has worked as a research specialist at Jordan University of Science and Technology where she focused on sheep breeding programs and meat quality. Upon receiving her PhD, she worked as a research specialist at the Prestage Department of Poultry Science at NC State managing the lab of Dr. John Brake and later joining the extension research specialists team working on a variety of projects in poultry and co-teaching the poultry processing class. Dr. Qudsieh is currently working with BioResource International, Inc. as the manager of Animal Nutrition team conducting research in collaboration with NC State and other academic and commercial research institutes globally. The research is focused on supporting research and development, marketing, and regulatory requirements. The products investigated span through a variety of nutritional and gut health feed additives that aim to improve animal gut health and promote sustainability. Dr. Qudsieh has several publications and presentations at national and international conferences.
