Academic Advisor: Dr. Matt Koci
Lauren completed her BS in Animal Science from the University of Missouri in 2014. She worked in biotech for several years before returning to grad school at NC State in 2018. Her Animal Science MS work focused on stress physiology in swine. In her PhD, she switched into Microbiology and Poultry Science looking at the interface between the microbiome and immune system in chickens. She aims to return to the agricultural biotech industry after graduation.
