The North Carolina Food Innovation Lab (NCFIL) aims to increase the amount of food processed in North Carolina, focusing on fruit, vegetable and plant-based food processing.
“There’s been a lot of publicity around the positive effects of eating a plant-based diet and people are taking that to heart,” says Bill Aimutis, director of the North Carolina Food Innovation Lab.
He adds that NC State and NCFIL will work with companies of all sizes, including multinational and entrepreneurial companies that are looking at their next stage of growth.
“NCFIL is unique in providing solutions for our clients and the fact that we are producing under good manufacturing practices, we can produce at a small enough scale to give us a good indication of how a product will run in a larger manufacturing facility”
