On August 22nd, three NC State faculty will be going to Peru to present on their research and strategies for domesticating and sustainably developing native berries in Cajamarca region of Peru.

The conference organizer, Dr. Antoniette Ornella Gutierrez from the National Agrarian University La Molina in Lima, Peru visited NC State in the Fall of 2018. Although short, she was able to meet with Dr. Hamid Ashrafi among other NC State researchers, to talk about her interest in working on native berries in Peru. We are excited for this first international conference and hope that this is only just the beginning of a long-term collaborative relationship.
