April–May 2019 — Visiting Scholars from SENASA, Peru
McNeil Danilo Farfan from the National Agrarian Health Service (SENASA) came to NC State for 2 months to learn from Dr. Kevin Garcia in Crop and Soil Sciences.
July–August 2019 — Visiting Scholars from INIA, Peru
Fredy E. Quispe the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA) visited NC State for a month to learn from Dr. Deyu Xie in Plant and Microbial Biology.
Workshops Abroad
February 12–March 13, 2020 — UNALM, Peru
In February and March, Dr. Hannah Burrack and Dr. Steve Hall led a series of virtual and intensive courses for a group in Lima, Peru to offer a guide for publishing articles on aquaculture in international scientific journals. Dr. Burrack and Dr. Hall’s course was made possible through the partnership of NC State with the Perú Ministerio de la Producción, Programa Nacional de Innovación en Pesca y Acuicultura, and the Fundación para el Desarrollo Agrario (FDA).

Dr. Marcela Rojas-Pierce, Dr. Heike Sederoff and graduate students Eli Hornstein and Nathan Wilson visited Universidad Nacional de San Agustin (UNSA) in Arequipa, Peru to lead a workshop on bioinformatics and molecular biology.

Dr. Keith Harris went to Universidad Nacional de San Agustin (UNSA) in Arequipa, Peru to lead a workshop on HPLC chromatographer use and explore opportunities to collaborate with faculty from the Facultad de Ingenieria Alimentaria.
November 7–10, 2019 — UNALM, Peru
NC State’s Dr. Hannah Burrack from the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology will be visiting Peru in November to lead a workshop on scientific writing. For several years, Dr. Burrack has taught a Fellowship and grant proposal writing course, and so she will build off of this and personal experience to lead this workshop at the National Agrarian University La Molina (UNALM), in Peru.
