This week in the lab I have definitely been able to work more independently than I have been in the previous weeks. Instead of having semi-constant (though not at all strict) direct supervision, I am comfortably carrying out the protocols on my own. I think this is due to my familiarization with the lab and techniques, and the fact that my supervisors now trust me enough to be left to work without constant guidance. I have also started on a second project this week, so I’m getting introduced to some cool new stuff.
Over the weekend we went to a nearby town called Ribadesella, and it was breathtaking. It was only a short bus ride away and boasted some of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. We were able to enjoy climbing on rocks and mountains, as well as spend time by the sea. I also absolutely loved the fact that there were lemon trees everywhere. If you ever find yourself in Asturias, I highly recommend giving Ribadesella a visit.
