Patterson and Ristaino Receive Awards for International Impact

Faculty members from NC State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences were honored during the university’s annual Global Engagement Exposition on April 23. The exposition celebrates the international excellence of NC State faculty, staff and students.

Bob Patterson, an Alumni Distinguished Professor in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences received the Jackson Rigney International Service Award. This award honors a distinguished faculty or staff member for the promotion of international understanding and service to the university and the international community over the course of their careers.

Jean Ristaino, a William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology, was one of three winners of the 2019 Outstanding Global Engagement Award. This award honor recognizes outstanding accomplishments in globally engaged teaching, research, extension, engagement or economic development by NC State faculty.

In addition, U.S. Department of Agriculture Professor David Marshall, affiliated with NC State’s Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology, was recognized as a nominee for the Outstanding Global Engagement Award.
